You will not be able to add cosmetic chairs to the Marcway turnouts because the rail is soldered directly to the sleepers, whereas the cosmetic chairs lift the rail above the sleepers as in real life.

Martyn.
Thanks for the info Martin, that's that idea out of the running!
It's probably best to lay out the buildings and take it from there.
It's always going to be difficult trying to replicate a prototype location with pre-made points. I understand the webs can be cut to allow a slight curvature on the Peco points, and if this is possible I may still be in with a reasonable chance of keeping to the prototypical track plan. All be it a tad squashed :)
Sorry for the hi-jack Chris.

Board joints...

Drill 2mm diameter hole in the sleepers under the rail position through the cork and into the ply. Insert brass rod and file down to match the height of the underside of the rail.

Having seen this are you going to use this method to provide power to the rails using a 3 part (two outer and one inner) sleeper and dummy chairs?

No the pins are just to add strength either side of the board joint not used for electrical feeds. I actually added pins to the second sleepers away from the joint too:

To hide the pins I cut chairs in half and fitted the sections either side of the rail.

Power is supplied by wires soldered to the underside of the rail, with the wire coming up through the sleeper.

Looking impressive. Time for me to unroll my plan again. Lost all template with computer problem a couple of weeks ago.

If you use template it gives nominal radii A5 and B6 are close to the same. But if you are building an industrial layout, you can mess with the points and make them shorter and with a sharper crossing. But you won't get a pacific through them.

I've mentioned previously that I'm going to wire the layout so that it can be used for either DC or DCC.

In DC it will be wired for two controller cab control with sections.

In DCC it will have all the sections switched out via a clever master switch wiring scheme designed by Geoff Cook.

My thoughts on where to install the section breaks for the DC version is below, have I missed anything obvious?:

Probably overkill! Since you would be unlikely to have more than two locos in the station at the same time, you have ten discrete locations where they can be isolated. If the sidings are set for the main, they should generally be isolated anyway. Unless of course you like lots of switches and a complicated-looking control panel...........!

For DC control and simplicity I would reduce it to five sections. Wenford and Clay siding; Wadebridge; Platform road and Loco release; Loop road and goods sidings 1 thru 3; Goods siding 4 (to use for loco storage). If a station pilot is being used then have six sections by separating the Loco Release and Platform road.

It's been a busy couple of weeks at work and getting home late and tired doesn't mix well with good modelling work. I was able to snatch a few hours last weekend and the C&L delivery meant that I could crack on with sleeper / timber and chair trimming.

How do you know it fits together the colour code does not match the drawing.

It does all fit, although I have to to do a little trimming of some of the lengths. Did exactly the same on the other three boards. The main idea with getting it cut was the outside edges and top were all bang on and all the long cuts of the rest of the parts are accurate. I'm happy trimming the inner parts to fit.
