Hi all. Another newbie dipping into a mind-boggling site!! I'm a founder member of the Ikea branch of railway modelling---- all my kits are still flat packs :( . My interest is what i remember,WR /LMR late 50's early 60's around Bristol. Came to 7mm when I found I couldn't see 4mm so well! Am interested in all of what I see on here but don't hold your breath for any work from me--- I'm still in thinking mode

regards

A Tokai - nice!

What's the Bridge pick-up? Have you modified it or was it a 'Super-Strat' from the start?

I have two Jap Strats (one with a modified system one Trem - sorry but prefer them over the FR type (each to their own of course) and one with a standard Trem) - I bought 'em at a time when the US Strats werent much cop (Gibsons were worse  ).

I still bash out some Zep/Hendrix/Sab/Cream/Blues - what about you?

Nice  guitar I nearly bought a Tokai Tele back in the 1980's I wish I had now as I would like a Tele - yet spend what little I have on O gauge now ;) :D

Hi CME
I have 3 Strats, 2 modified Tokai's & a Charvelle, but this one is my favourite  , It's been fitted with EMG active pickups , the Floyd Rose & Jumbo frets. I used to play it with 012 to 056 strings  but my fingers aren't strong enough any more as I don't play as often as I used to . The Hendrix tone was awesome with those heavy strings, but it still sounds really nice with 009's.

I always fancied a Telecaster too, but I never got round to it, I love the sound of a Tele's neck pickup

I could never get standard Fender trems to stay in tune & Floyd Rose & Kahler's were all that was available at the time, if I was doing it again now I would use one of the improved Fender types.

I do still play occasionally , I was always & still am influenced by Jimi, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robin Trower, Albert King, Buddy Guy, 'T' Bone Walker, Paul Kossof etc (the list is endless  )

Cheers Phill
