Does anyone know how much the battery boxes need to be narrowed by? Been looking on google but have not been successful as yet...

Battery boxes and fuel tanks are only a few inches narrower than the body side on the class 47, I'd say no more than 4-6", I can measure the MMP class 57 tank width as that was pretty accurate when I was building it and its identical to the 47.



If you know measurement A then you can get a rough measurement on B

Has it shrunk in the cold! You have sound LOL, Your pseudo 08 starts better than ours, 2nd attempt and it fired over, we normally have to use four extra start carts (96V cut in parallel) on ours and can take nearly 5 mins of turning over to finally self sustain.

The aim for next lathe session is a couple of 37's. We have a Deltic, a 31 and hopefully a couple of 47's after that. Pictures will follow and if anyone is interested I could a step by step with photographs?
